Greenlight founder named finalist in prestigious National Business Awards
London, 5 August, 2010 - Warren Cowan, founder and CEO of Greenlight, the leading independent search and social marketing agency, has been named a finalist in the 2010 National Business Awards in partnership with Orange.
Cowan has been shortlisted for the 'Entrepreneur of the Year' Award, alongside nine other individuals, for demonstrating great strength in the ability to adapt and innovate under trying economic conditions.
Greenlight, a leader in the search marketing space, is recognised worldwide for its commitment to delivering record ROI for clients and investing in the future of search. Some of its most recent high profile client acquisitions include New Look, Thomas Cook and Santander.
Commenting on the calibre of entries, Philip Forrest, Chairman of Judges, the National Business Awards, said: "The economic climate continues to present UK businesses with an unprecedented challenge and it is therefore encouraging that the entries in this year's National Business Awards have shown no drop in quality or performance. Congratulations to all finalists for demonstrating great strength in the ability to adapt and innovate quickly which no doubt reflects the resilience and optimism that are the hallmarks of UK enterprise."
Commenting specifically on Warren Cowan's selection as a finalist, Forrest added: "The need to optimise the effectiveness of web marketing was identified early by the company and its focus on supporting the blue chip end of the market has enabled this entrepreneur to grow a fully self funded multi million pound business with offices in London and New York and a high profile client list to drive future growth."
Of his being shortlisted Cowan said: "I am delighted and see this as recognition of the talented team without whom, it would not have been possible to make Greenlight what it is today."
Finalists will make their presentations in person before an independent, expert judging panel. The winners will be unveiled at an award ceremony on 9th November at the Grosvenor House hotel in London.
"Orange has sponsored the National Business Awards for the past nine years and I am delighted that the calibre of entrants keeps on improving," said Martin Stiven, Vice President, Orange UK. "It's been a tough couple of years for business but the UK's organisations have not let this stop them from delivering success. I'd like to congratulate all the finalists for being a real inspiration for what is possible in business."
