Greenlight's latest holiday report highlights the most popular terms consumers used to search for long haul and short haul holidays on Google UK in August. It analysed which brands, retailers and review sites were the most visible in both the Natural Search and Paid Media results and therefore had the greatest share of consideration.

Teletextholidays.co.uk has knocked leading holiday price comparison site Icelolly.com off top spot, to emerge the most visible site for holiday-related searches, according to Greenlight's latest quarterly research, ‘Holidays – Issue 14’.

Laterooms.com maintained its lead as the most visible site for hotel searches in August according to Greenlight's latest report. This it did by achieving a sizeable share of voice across Natural Search and Paid Media. Interestingly, its share of visibility in Paid Media almost trebled from 24% in May to 69% in August.

Greenlight, has appointed former BBC Studios and Post Productions’ commercial and Finance Director, Warren Newbert, as chief financial officer (CFO). The appointment closely follows significant successes recorded by Greenlight in 2011/12, in which its year-on-year income has seen a significant 29 per cent growth to reach almost £9 million as the agency’s operations grow in scale and complexity.

CEO of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg has made it clear that Facebook has every intention of giving Google a run for its money by marrying social networking with one of the most valuable areas of the technology industry: Search. The Search market represents a "big opportunity" that Facebook is uniquely positioned to address, said Zuckerberg at a tech industry conference in San Francisco earlier this week.
