Top-level domains could become an important factor in ranking and online brand visibility

Today, the new generic top-level domains (gTLDs), the thousands of new domain extensions such as “.photography”, “.london” etc., that will be flooding into the market over the next few months, took a step forward and entered a new phase where they are open to applications from anyone. In Greenlight's view gTLDs open up the possibility of the TLD becoming an important ranking factor in the future, particularly for the truly “generic” gTLDs (i.e. not brand gTLDs).

Womenswear: Search volumes for Swimwear outstrip those for Lingerie and Playsuits

Online search volumes for footwear, clothing and accessories in September were up a whopping 82% on the previous quarter, reveals Greenlight's latest analysis of fashion-related search data. Womenswear made the highest gains on the previous quarter with searches pertaining to swimwear dominating.

The number of UK online searches relating to beauty products in September rose 48% on the last quarter, reveal search insights from the latest ‘Beauty Sector Report – Issue 2’, published by leading independent digital marketing agency, Greenlight.
